Creating a Masterpiece

Prerequisite: Completion of Score and Snap and Pattern Making

You have carefully considered the story that you want to tell and how you want to tell it. You have created the necessary drawings and patterns. Now comes the moment that you have been waiting for!

O.K. So, maybe I’m getting a little ahead of myself here. Although, it’s good to be excited. In Pattern Making you put a lot of time into making decisions that will govern the final look of your masterpiece. In this course you get to make that masterpiece a reality.

It’s pretty simple, you need to learn whatever techniques are required for you to fabricate your masterpiece. That may mean simply learning how to use copper foil technique, or learning to paint on glass, or you may need to make some clay molds to slump glass to shape. Whatever information that you need, you will get it right here.

If you thought that Pattern Making was information packed, you better strap in double tight this time around! Hours are to be arranged with the instructor (me), and will be dependent on studio load (generally heavy). Depending on what you’ve chosen to create, this may take some time. You will need to be focused and dedicated. We will make this masterpiece a reality! Then will come the moment that you’ve been waiting for, the first time that you see light through your masterpiece.

Students must provide their own eye protection. Under NO circumstances will students be allowed access to the studio without eye protection. A respirator, if required, will be included in the cost of tuition.

Students who have previously completed a project may register again to complete additional works.

Cost: $350 (some additional changes for materials may be incurred)
